My Personal Strategies to Build Authority as a Product Launch Manager Part 5: The “Interview”

Take a look at this question presented by a fellow Product Launch Manager, Brandon Hartman:

“What do you think? Does interviewing an expert add to your credibility and increase your status as an expert in your field?

…Is their a transfer of expert status when you hold the direct audience of an expert? Sort of like Expert by Association? Should I use interviews as a way to build my expert status?”

Here was my quick answer:

“Great revelation Brandon.

You answered yourself with that one. So now the question is: Who are you going to interview first?

peace”

Here’s the long answer:

Let me show you how I Build Authority as a Product Launch Manager by interviewing the “experts” in my niche…

Dinner and a Date, Marriage and Product Launches: Which comes first?

“Would you marry my ass?

Seriously, would ya? C’mon. It’s no big deal…Yes or No?”

“No you freakin’ weirdo!” you say?

Okay. How ‘bout this?

Dinner and a Date:

“I read from your blog that you love candlelit dinners by the sea. I know this great place that makes a lovely pan-seared, fresh, juicy piece of tuna with a hint of wasabi. A glass of Don Miguel Gascon Malbec from Mendoza, Argentina would accompany it quite nicely. For dessert, a lovely tarte du pomme is served with just the right amount of vanilla ice cream. Afterwards, we can take a walk on the beach with my Golden Retriever, Xoxota and your little cutie Poodle doodle. While they’re mingling we can talk about the moon and the stars. By the way, was your father a thief?”

Dinner and a Date or Marriage?

Which one would you choose if I presented that question to ya?

Drumroll please…

I personally wouldn’t want to marry my own self so I would chose “dinner and a date.”

Where in god’s name am I going with this and Product Launches?

Let me show ya:

The One Major Flaw in “Think and Grow Rich” by Napoleon Hill

I thought this was perfect timing seeing that the end of the year is here. Now is the time to set some goals and take some action!

I’m a big fan of Napoleon Hill and wanted to report on one of his biggest flaws.

This is NOT to criticize his work. It is to encourage you if you’re also one of his followers. You see, Hill uses money as a gauge for our success, right? I mean the intention that he instructs us to use involves how much money we intend on learning by a certain date. For example,

The Price I Paid for Not Listening to My Instinct: Three (3) Ways to Benefit from my Mistake as a Manager

The original title of this post was called:

“I’M THE FUCKING BOSS. Got that? Huh? Punk?”

I toned it down and made it so that any manager out there can read this and maintain their sanity if they find they’re stuck in a similar position. You see, I ignored my instinct and it cost me a ton of frustration, aggravation and headaches. I could have avoided it the first time that it “spoke” to me in November while I was at the InfoSummit. I could have acted upon it a few days later when it started “shouting” at me indicating that something was wrong. At that point, I talked to my business partner about it and said:

“Nido, I got a bad feeling about this project. I think we should act upon this sooner than later…”

He told me, “I know. I know but let’s keep going with it…”

We did and I lost quite a few nights sleep because of it. I’m sharing with you the three (3) options that you can take if you find yourself in a similar position as a Manager. Having control over your project is the most important aspect of any job. I acted irresponsibly by not taking action soon enough. I highly advise you DON’T do the same.

I’m gonna start off soft, with a light introduction that leads to a story. Here goes…

Youre_Losing_Me_Here

BELATED BREAKING NEWS: This just in. Jeff Pezzella has officially dropped out of Jeff Walker’s Product Launch Manager Coaching.

Yes. It’s true. I actually dropped out over a month ago on November 20, 2009. Why am I writing about it now? Well, thanks to a great conversation with a friend of mine on December 18th, I was finally able to figure it out and put it into words.

So here’s the thing: I was never a customer to begin with. I never had any intention to join Jeff Walker’s Product Launch Manager Coaching Program from the beginning. I wanted the “real” thing. I wanted the 5 day intensive training that occurred in Los Angeles. I wanted to be fully immersed in Product Launch talk with other people passionate about Product Launches. I wanted to be able to mastermind with these very same people in the very same geographic place. I didn’t want the second best thing. I didn’t want the third best thing. It was full immersion or nothing.

So why did I sign up? Let’s just say that I was encouraged by one of Jeff Walker’s hand picked guys who told me that it would be a good idea. I told him straight out that I was very apprehensive about joining but would “try it out” and see if I was to be proved wrong. Well, I wasn’t and here are the reasons why:
